To ask the Minister for Communities what assessment his Department has made of the impact of rising utility costs to the viability of amateur sports clubs.

Answer:

My Department has made no formal assessment of the impact of rising utility costs on the viability of amateur sports clubs. However, I would refer the member for South Belfast to my responses to her previous questions regarding consideration of Rates Relief for sports clubs (AQW 8318/22-27) and financial support for sports clubs affected by rising utility costs (AQW 8319/22-27) which reference funding support to address utility costs under the Renewable Energy Fund administered by Sport NI.
