Question:
To ask the Assembly Commission (i) to detail the status of MLAs in relation to health and safety and accessibility policies that cover all users of Parliament Buildings; and (ii) whether there are any plans to review this status.

Answer:

(i)The Assembly Commission’s Health and Safety at Work Policy applies to all users of Parliament Buildings including Members. The Health and Safety at Work Policy is available for Members via the Members Portal. The policy is reviewed annually or more frequently if necessary. The Assembly Commission also has an Inclusive Customer Service Policy which covers all building users and promotes accessibility services within the Northern Ireland Assembly. The Inclusive Customer Service Policy is available on the Northern Ireland Assembly website.

(ii)There are no plans to review the current arrangements under these policies.
