Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities what provision can be made for people with pets who are in need of temporary housing from the Housing Executive.

Answer:

I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, who has advised me as follows:

“The Housing Executive will seek to provide the most suitable form of temporary accommodation based on the needs of households. Any provision of temporary accommodation for households who have pets and require temporary accommodation will be dependent on arrangements with the respective provider. While arrangements will always seek to align households with pets with a provider who will facilitate a household with pets, the provision of temporary accommodation will be dependent on availability at a given point in time.”
