Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on his plans to create a specific support function for the controlled sector.

Answer:

The Department is currently considering the report produced by the Independent Review of Education Panel and carrying out internal consultation to inform a way forward. This process includes discussion with key education stakeholders including other relevant Departments and Arm’s-Length Bodies.

Following this consultation, officials are now producing a paper for my consideration setting out advice on the various recommendations in the report.

I have also requested advice specifically on support for the controlled sector.
