Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether his Department provides any materials or guidance to support those who choose to educate on consent and healthy relationships.

Answer:

My Department provides funding to the Council for the Curriculum, Examination and Assessment (CCEA) to provide teaching and learning resources and support materials relating to the Northern Ireland Curriculum for grant-aided schools.

Between 2018 and 2023, CCEA developed a Relationships and Sexuality Education Hub which has a range of resources for teachers to use or adapt to reflect the flexibility in our curriculum.

The Hub includes teaching materials on consent and healthy relationships. The Hub is currently undergoing a quality assurance review process and should be available to schools in the near future.
