Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) the length of time a school transforming to become an integrated school is permitted to take to achieve the appropriate breakdown of children from protestant, catholic, other and no faith backgrounds; and (ii) where this guidance is published.

Answer:
The Department provides guidance on transformation (Integration Works) for schools going through the process. This covers:
Planning for Transformation
The Statutory Transformation Process
After Approval – Transformation in Practice
and
Sources of Advice and Funding
The guidance is under review (as per action 10 of the Integrated Education (Northern Ireland) Act 2022 strategy and action plan). The review will consider the length of time a school transforming to become an integrated school should take to achieve the appropriate breakdown of children from Protestant, Roman Catholic, other and no faith backgrounds.
