Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure what consideration has been given to the enhancement of (i) road markings; and (ii) lighting on the the Ormeau Embankment, particularly at pedestrian crossings, to improve safety.

Answer:

A recent site inspection carried out by my officials has indicated that all road markings associated with pedestrian crossings on Ormeau Embankment are in good condition and in line with current design standards.

My Department also installed a new lighting scheme on Ormeau Embankment, Belfast in February 2018 in accordance with the relevant British Standard. Consequently, there are no plans to carry out any further street lighting works at this location.
