Question:
To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 7706/22-27, for his assessment of whether the common funding scheme provides an equitable funding settlement to all schools.

Answer:

Education in Northern Ireland faces huge funding pressures. The current education budget is not sufficient to provide a reasonable budget settlement for all schools.

In this difficult context, it is my intention to review the Common Funding Scheme, including the Common Funding Formula which calculates individual school budgets, to ensure it distributes the available funding as effectively as possible for the benefit of all pupils.
