Question:
To ask the Minister of Education to detail (i) the number of nominations received from the voluntary, community and independent sector for the Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards; and (ii) whether nursery school settings are eligible to be nominated for the awards.

Answer:

Educational settings cannot self-nominate for the Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards. Parents / carers or others in the wider school community can nominate an educational setting that has provided exceptional pastoral care.

There were five nominations received for non-statutory pre-school settings (with DE-funded pre-school education programme places) for the 2024 Derrytrasna Pastoral Care Awards.

Awards are available for nursery, primary, post-primary and special school sectors.
