Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister for an update on the work of their Department's Economic Policy Unit.

Answer:

The Executive Insight and Strategy Unit (formerly known as the Economic Policy Unit) was formed in 2023 to develop a stronger understanding of our performance and international competitiveness, and to support policy development.

The unit continues to develop the relevant socio-economic research, data, and emerging trends at regional, national, European, and global level. Identifying gaps in data and capability and working with colleagues across the Executive and external stakeholders.
