Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he will consider putting training in place for school staff on the creation of infection-resilient classrooms to improve absent rates in schools.

Answer:
The Education Authority provides schools with health and safety guidance to ensure school staff are able to create a safe and healthy classroom environment.
Any efforts to improve regular pupil attendance at school are welcome. I am conscious of the number of challenges that are adversely affecting pupil attendance currently and my officials are reviewing and refreshing the existing attendance strategy in order to take account of these circumstances.
