Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) to detail the number of electric vehicle charge points; and (ii) how many of these are out of order.

Answer:
The provision and operation of publicly accessible electric vehicle (EV) charge points is a commercially led operation. Responsibility for the maintenance and installation of those charge points rests solely with the charge point operators (CPO’s). In this commercially led market, my officials continue to engage with EV owners and provide advice to CPO’s on operational matters.
Latest statistics show there are 577 publicly available EV charge points in the North. This represents a growth of 48% in the total number of available EV charge points since April 2023. Relevant charge point operators are best placed to advise of any maintenance issues and plans for the installation of further charge points.
