Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the action plan to address the Education Training Inspectorate evaluation of education other than at school settings.

Answer:
The Education Authority (EA) has established a cross-directorate EOTAS (education otherwise than at school) Governance Group which has oversight of the implementation plan to address the recommendations of the Education and Training Inspectorate report on its review of EOTAS provision. Departmental officials attend this Governance Group as observers.
The EA has taken action to address four of the five recommendations, alongside business-as-usual service developments and improvements.
Given that the review commenced five years ago, and in light of the work ongoing within the End-to-End Review of SEN and the End-to-End Review of School Improvement, Departmental and EA officials have agreed to review the action taken to date, its impact, and identify what work remains to be done in order to ensure that the service is able to best meet the needs of the children and young people in our EOTAS settings.
