To ask the Minister of Health whether he will commit to publishing workforce statistics annually, including the number of registered children’s community nurses.

Answer:

Information on Health and Social Care (HSC) staff in post is published by my Department on an annual basis in the Health & Social Care Workforce Census at the link below.

This official statistics report includes children’s community nurses within the category of paediatric nurse. It is not possible to add a breakdown of setting (i.e. community) to this report. However, the number of children’s community nurses can be obtained by my Department from the HSC Trusts. The most recent information acquired is detailed in the response to AQW 9860/22-27.
