Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any plans he has to update the Neighbourhood Renewal strategy, launched in 2003.

Answer:

A review of the Executive’s People and Place strategy is currently underway with co-design structures in place to facilitate engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including the Neighbourhood Renewal partnerships, representatives from Section 75 groups and the wider voluntary and community sector including those from rural communities.

Given the complex nature of deprivation providing the right support for communities will require a collaborative and integrated cross Departmental approach by the Executive.

The drafting of a strategic document will take place over the summer months after which I will present it to the Executive for further consideration.

It is then envisaged that a public consultation exercise will take place in the Autumn.
