Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail the investments being made in transport infrastructure to improve connectivity (i) within Northern Ireland; and (ii) with the rest of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Answer:
My decisions on indicative budget allocations, which are subject to equality considerations, include investment in transport infrastructure to improve connectivity across these islands.
This includes an overall planned investment of £245m in the public transport network, which includes funding for the Coleraine - Derry Phase 3 project, which will allow Translink to progress the project as planned and seeks to ensure investment in public transport across the entire region.
An element of funding for the Enterprise Replacement Programme in included which will provide the public transport investment required to improve connectivity across Ireland. Shared Island funding of €12.5m was announced in February 2024 to fund an additional 7 daily trips between Dublin and Belfast, for 3 years.
In addition, overall planned investment in Major Roads Projects across, is £107m for 2024-25, which also contributes to the connectivity across these islands.
