Question:
To ask the Minister of Health (i) whether his officials have completed their consideration of the Cass Review; and (ii) what actions his Department will take following the recommendations contained in the Cass Review final report.

Answer:

My officials will attend a workshop on Friday 14 June with the Gender Identity Pathway Review Group, which includes clinicians and representatives from the Belfast HSC Trust’s Knowing Our Identity Service for under 18s, to consider and discuss any implications of the Cass Review recommendations. In addition, my officials will attend a further workshop on Monday 17 June with the Gender Identity Service Liaison Panel, which includes clinicians and transgender representative organisations to discuss the Review’s recommendations and any implications for the service provided in Northern Ireland.

My Department will carefully consider the outcomes of the workshops as outlined above and any implications for gender identity services provided in Northern Ireland.
