To ask the Minister for Infrastructure how his Department is addressing the environmental impact of infrastructure projects, such as reducing construction waste.

Answer:

My Department’s approach to addressing the environmental impact of our work is set out is our publication ‘Protecting, Enhancing and Restoring Natural Places: An Environmental Mission Statement for Infrastructure Development and Management’.

The approach set out in this document along with the design standards, procurement methods and the provisions in legislation, seek to minimise the potential environmental impacts of infrastructure projects and ensure that there is effective management of waste during the construction phase of our works.
