To ask the Minister of Education to detail the percentage of short notice bookings placed on the Northern Ireland Supply Teacher Register that are successful.

Answer:

The Department of Education is not the employer of school-based staff. The Northern Ireland Supply Teacher Register is administered by the Education Authority (EA). EA has advised that from the period from August 2023 to 10 June 2024 93% of short notice bookings have been successfully filled through the NISTR Short Notice Supply function:

• Number of short notice supply bookings: 4013

• Number of short notice supply notices that have been a successful booking: 3724.
