Question:
To ask the Minister of Education whether he intends to progress Key Area 4 of A Fair Start Final Report and Action Plan.

Answer:

“A Fair Start” Key Area 4 action (i) is complete and Key Area 4 actions (iii) and (iv) are being progressed following my announcement of £20 million over the next two years, with potential for further funding to support the delivery of the RAISE programme.

Key Area 4 actions (v), (vi) and (vii) are not being progressed in 2024/25 due to budget pressures.

Key Area 4 action (ii) suggested that completion of Targeting Social Need Planner should be mandatory. Schools are being encouraged to complete the planner rather than mandating them.
