Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy whether he has made any representation to the Electoral Commission in relation to the use of student cards as an acceptable form of voter identification.

Answer:
I have not made representations to the Electoral Commission in relation to the use of student cards as an acceptable form of voter identification.
This is not a matter for the Department for the Economy as voter identification is not within my Department’s remit.
The Electoral Office for Northern Ireland provides a list of appropriate identification documents for voters. This can be found at https://www.eoni.org.uk/Vote/Voting-at-a-polling-place
