Question:
To ask the Minister of Health (i) for his assessment of the £100,000 savings made in the Northern Health and Social Care Trust in 2023-24 from the Travel Contribution Scheme for medical students; and (ii) to detail savings made by the (a) Western Health and Social Care Trust; and (b) the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in 2023-24.

Answer:

The Pilot Travel Contribution Scheme has not yet been evaluated and so no assessment of potential savings has been made.

The Pilot Travel Contribution Scheme will be evaluated in Autumn 2024. Until this validation is complete, it is not possible to outline any savings in individual HSC Trusts.
