Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure what alternatives to weed killer his Department has researched as part of its plan to reduce the use of weed killer.

Answer:

While the Department has not carried out any specific research on alternatives to weedkiller, this topic has been discussed with colleagues from other roads authorities at the UK Roads Leadership Group, and some of its subcommittees, however, to date no effective alternative has been identified.
