Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs for an update on the redevelopment of Whitespots Country Park, Newtownards.

Answer:

The redevelopment of Whitespots Country Park is being delivered by Ards and North Down Borough Council with my Department acting as the ‘Accountable Department’ under the Complementary Funds. The Complementary Fund is contributing £7.4m to the project with a further £1.1m from the DAERA Environment Fund and a remaining Council contribution of £0.8m.

The Outline Business Case has received final approval, and the Letter of Offer will be issued in next few weeks. The project has a completion date of spring 2029.
