Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure whether he will meet the Hillsborough Community Group to discuss a weight limit for heavy goods vehicle traffic in Hillsborough village.

Answer:

My officials have previously met with members of the Hillsborough Community Group to discuss the weight limit proposal. Following the most recent meeting, officials have commissioned an assessment of alternative routes for HGV traffic to inform the relative merits of the weight limit proposal, in particular regarding the impacts on road safety both within the village and on the surrounding road network.

The assessment is expected for completion in Autumn 2024.

Once my officials have had time to review and consider the report findings a further meeting will be arranged with the Hillsborough Community Group.
