Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure what proposals he will bring forward by the end of the current Assembly session to improve traffic management in Hillsborough village.

Answer:

Officials in my department have commissioned an assessment of alternative routes for HGV traffic to inform the relative merits of the weight limit proposal, in particular regarding the impacts on road safety both within the village and on the surrounding road network.

The assessment is expected for completion in Autumn 2024 and I am unable to provide details of any proposed traffic management improvements within the village until the assessment is completed and my officials have had time to consider its contents.
