Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance to detail the financial support her Department is providing to businesses in (i) Newry; and (ii) Armagh city who are struggling with the cost of rates.

Answer:

The figures held by the Department show the rates support provided on a council area basis. For 2024/25 in the Newry, Mourne and Down council area support was provided to 5,347 business premises, delivering over £18.9 million of relief. In the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon council area, support was provided to 6,066 businesses, delivering over £23.4 million of relief.

This rates support is provided to a wide range of businesses including manufacturing, hospitality, retail and services industries.
