To ask the Minister of Education whether he will review the tendering and procurement processes in relation to the provision of taxis for pupils with a statement of special educational needs.

Answer:

The Education Authority (EA) is responsible for the operation and delivery of home to school transport, including the procurement of taxis for pupils with special educational needs.

The EA is a Centre of Procurement Expertise (CoPE) and it is responsible for its own tendering processes. It would therefore be for the EA to determine if a review of the tendering and procurement processes in relation to taxis for pupils with a statement of special educational needs is necessary.
