To ask the Minister for the Economy to detail the opportunities there are available to support plans by Ards and North Down Borough Council to celebrate the centenary of the Ards TT races in 2028.

Answer:

I recognise the heritage and importance of the Ards TT Races to the area and understand that Ards & North Down Borough Council are working on plans around centenary celebrations of the event for 2028.

Tourism NI is responsible for the administration of tourism events funding within my Department. Events funding from Tourism NI operates on an annual open call basis, with agreed published criteria, and is dependent on budget availability. Tourism NI would be happy to discuss where they might be able to support from a tourism perspective.
