Question:
To ask the First Minister and deputy First Minister for an update on free period products legislation.

Answer:

Under section 1 of the Period Products (Free Provision) Act (Northern Ireland) 2022, TEO, in partnership with Libraries NI, are providing free period products throughout the Libraries NI network of 96 static and 11 mobile libraries.

Officials will monitor and evaluate the provision of products going forward and will engage with potential additional delivery partners.

Further to section 2 of the 2022 Act, regulations will be made in due course that will specify the Department’s Public Bodies which will be under a duty to make free products available for use on their premises.
