To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 12368/22-27, to detail the rationale for not fully implementing the action plan to address the Education Training Inspectorate evaluation of education otherwise than at school.

Answer:

Resource pressures within the Education Authority (EA) have meant that full implementation of the action plan has not been possible.

Departmental and EA officials are currently considering the actions necessary to resolve outstanding issues identified within the evaluation by the Education and Training Inspectorate (ETI). This work is informed by an ETI progress report, provided to the Department in September 2023, which identified a number of improvements in the quality of provision for children and young people being educated in EOTAS centres.
