Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure for an update on plans to develop a park and ride facility in Comber.

Answer:

My Department has identified a list of priority Park and Ride sites, including a suitable site in Comber. The preferred site is located along the A22 Belfast Road corridor immediately adjacent to the Comber Greenway with the potential to provide parking provision for 626 vehicles.

Whilst I am supportive of expanding our Park and Ride schemes where needed, the member will be aware that my Department has been operating in a difficult financial environment for a number of years due to under funding and austerity by the British Government. As the capital budget for my Department in 2024/25 is less than required, available funding must be prioritised accordingly.
