Question:
To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs to detail his plans to facilitate industry workshops to inform farmers, and others involved in the agriculture sector, of the latest scientific tools to help reduce emissions and farm more sustainably.

Answer:

As part of my Department’s Farm Support and Development Programme officials are currently developing new knowledge transfer and innovation programmes which will be delivered through a range of information, training, and group learning interventions.

These programmes will communicate the latest scientific research and advice to support farmers to improve their technical efficiency and environmentally sustainability.

A scheme, Supporting Agri Professionals, is also being developed to raise the knowledge of professionals interacting with farm businesses to promote a wider understanding of the Farm Support and Development Programme.
