Question:
To ask the Minister of Health for an update on the implementation of the recommendations of the Report of the Independent Review of Northern Ireland’s Children’s Social Care Services.

Answer:

The report of the Independent Review of Children’s Social Care Services was published in June 2023 and a public consultation on the Review recommendations ran for 12 weeks between September and December 2023. My officials are in the process of developing advice based on analysis of the responses to the public consultation.

Subject to the final outcome to consultation and other factors, including the availability of budget and the views of other Ministers where relevant, the intention would be to implement recommendations as quickly as possible. A number of the recommendations will be taken forward through the Children's Social Care Services Reform Programme as appropriate.
