Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure to detail (i) any efforts his Department has made to secure the necessary ring-fenced funding to develop a Flood Forecasting Centre, included in the the Budget 2024-25 Equality Impact Assessment Public Consultation; and (ii) any response there has been in relation to this.

Answer:

Currently due to budgetary constraints my Department is operating a limited flood risk management service with no provision to fund a Flood Forecasting Centre.

My Department submitted a transformation bid for the delivery of a Flood Forecasting Centre. As this is a digital bid, it is being considered as part of a digital landscape review, the outcome of which is not expected until later this year.
