Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the work of the Transitions Inter-departmental Working Group.

Answer:

The Transitions Inter-departmental Working Group published its closing report in February 2006 and actions have been taken forward by respective owners.

A new Transitions Working Group was established in 2022 as part of the End to End (E2E) Review of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and is co-chaired by the Departments of Health (DoH) and Education (DE). The group has re-engaged with parents, carers and young people who have gone or are going through the transitions planning process. This work is almost complete and proposals for moving forward are emerging and will be included in the summary report of the E2E Review of SEN.
