Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the implementation of the Integrated Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2022.

Answer:

As required by the legislation, the Department published the statutory report (the Section 10 Report) on Integrated Education on 26 April 2024. Officials are continuing to work closely with the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) and the Education Authority (EA) to implement relevant actions within the S10 report.

In addition, my officials are currently drafting an updated Integrated Education Strategy and Action Plan as required under Section 10 (6) of the Act. This revised Strategy and Action Plan will be published and open to public consultation as soon as practically possible following consultation and engagement with NICIE, Integrated Education Fund (IEF) and Controlled Schools Support Council (CSSC) as required under Section 3 of the Act.
