Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance whether he plans to introduce legislation to protect private apartment owners from disproportionate increases in management company fees.

Answer:

Management companies must act in accordance with existing relevant companies legislation, which falls outside the remit of my Department.

However, this is an issue that also relates to substantive land law and is one that I am keen to see some progress in developing policy proposals. I am currently exploring with officials how to secure the appropriate expertise in what is a complex area. Further progress will depend on that and the competing priorities over the remainder of this mandate.
