To ask the Minister of Education, pursuant to AQW 11333/22-27, AQW 11334/22-27 and AQW 11336/22-27, whether he will publish his assessment of the Concluding Observations.

Answer:

The UN Committee’s Concluding Observations were published in June 2023 and circulated to all NICS departments. There is no follow-up procedure on behalf of the Committee, which requires reporting on these in advance of the next State Party examination, likely to be 2030 at the earliest. I have decided that, due to the significant resource pressures currently facing my department, DE will not be carrying out a coordinated assessment across departments at this stage. I will keep this under review.
