To ask the Minister for Communities to detail (i) the timeline; and (ii) the proposal for the pilot for Housing First allocations in 2024-25.

Answer:

This issue is an operational matter for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.

I have sought the requested information from the Chief Executive, who has advised me as follows:

“The Homelessness Strategy 2022-27 Year 3 Action Plan includes a commitment to publish independent research on the feasibility study for Housing First for Northern Ireland.

The research is due to be submitted to the Housing Executive’s Executive Team for consideration in the coming weeks and will be used to shape ongoing development work on any Housing First allocations. Additional Housing First allocation will be subject to engagement with a range of partners and the provision of appropriate funding to support any increased delivery.”
