To ask the Minister of Education for an update on repeal to Article 4 (1) (c) of the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998.

Answer:

I have considered analysis from the responses to the consultation on the reduction and management of restrictive practices in educational settings and asked officials to work with stakeholders to revise and refine the draft guidance, reflecting on the issues raised.

The issue regarding repeal of Article 4 (1) (c) of the Education (NI) Order 1998, will be considered in the context of the revised guidance.
