Question:
To ask the Minister of Finance whether the UK government's recent announcement on pausing City Deal Funding will impact the redevelopment of Whitespots Country Park, Newtownards.

Answer:

In December 2021, the allocation of some £52 million of the £100 million Complementary Fund was agreed by the Executive for five projects. This included £7.4 million for the Whitespots Country Park.

The Complementary Fund is an Executive initiative which sits alongside City and Growth Deals, rather than being part of it. Funding for these five projects has been agreed and therefore these projects should continue as planned.
