Question:
To ask the Minister of Education for an update on the timeline of the development proposal for Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College to change to Integrated status.

Answer:

On 8 February 2024, the Education Authority (EA) published Development Proposal 727 at the request of the Board of Governors (BoGs) of Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College proposing that:

Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College will transform to Controlled Integrated Status with effect from 1 September 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The statutory two-month objection period in relation to this Development Proposal ended on 22 April 2024 and I am informed that a draft report is currently undergoing final review and will shortly be passed to me to inform my decision.
