Question:
To ask the Minister for Communities to detail any opportunities his Department has identified to improve arts provision in Lisburn city centre.

Answer:

In 2024-25 the Arts Council of Northern Ireland has provided £47k of lottery funding to the R-Space Gallery in Lisburn. The gallery aims to develop and deliver a high-quality arts programme that increases understanding, appreciation, practice, access and enjoyment of contemporary visual arts, crafts and other related arts activities.

The programme for the year ahead will have:

Six exhibitions by local, national and international artists/makers lasting 4/5 weeks each; and.

An accompanying programme of relevant and accessible learning activities including workshops and artist talks.
