Question:
To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on the implementation of the Fintech and Financial Services Sectoral Action Plan.

Answer:

The Fintech and Financial Services and Software (including Cyber) action plans were developed in conjunction and contain complementary actions which will help support the growth of the Fintech and Financial Services sector.

A number of actions are already underway, including in relation to skills, which I recognise as a key issue. I recently launched the Digital Skills Action Plan to support and develop the key skills required by innovative sectors such as Fintech. Along with delivery partners, including InvestNI, the Department is exploring ways to help develop the voice of the sector and to promote all-island opportunities, including the emerging Fintech Corridor.
