Question:
To ask the Minister of Health whether holding a driving licence has become a requirement for gaining employment as a midwife.

Answer:
Rotational or community midwifery roles do require a driving licence to meet the full needs of the post. However, this requirement will be waived for any applicant whose disability prohibits driving but has access to a form of transport approved by the Trust, which permits them to carry out the duties of the post.
Any post-specific flexibilities or exceptions will be stated in recruitment advertisements and job specifications issued by Trusts.
