Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, in light of recent developments on City Deal funding, for an update on the North Belfast to South Belfast Glider route proposal.

Answer:

Funding for the Belfast Region City Deal has been confirmed by the UK Treasury and the deal is no longer paused.

£35m for the delivery of the North – South Belfast Glider Route is identified with in this Deal. The estimated total scheme cost is in the range £142 to £148m, and therefore a significant shortfall of some £110m remains. I am committed to working with Executive colleagues and City Deal partners to ensure that the appropriate level of investment is made available to deliver this project.
