Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 12130/22-27, for an update on the review of safety on the A2 between Bangor and Belfast.

Answer:
I would confirm that, as per my response to AQW12130/22-27, road safety remains an extremely high priority for my Department and we are committed to working proactively to make our roads safer and address the needs of all road users.
My officials continue to review sites where there are clusters of collisions on the A2 to identify if there are any common causation factors for these collisions which would permit the introduction of an effective road safety measure. Once the review is completed, and any engineering measures are proposed, they will be considered for inclusion in a future work programme, subject to available funding.
Concerns regarding driver behaviour such as speeding should be directed to the PSNI using the non-emergency 101.
One of the best ways to ensure safety on our roads and fulfil our long-term goal of eliminating death and serious injury by 2050, is by changing road user behaviour. As road users we all have a personal responsibility to behave in a way that keeps ourselves and others safe.  The sad reality is that if we do not change our own attitudes when we are using the roads, our death toll will continue to increase.
