Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure (i) whether he is aware of car insurers refusing to process changes to insurance policies when changing cars; and (ii) whether he or his officials will engage with the Association of British Insurers on this issue.

Answer:
Insurers can refuse to provide cover when changing cars as the risk originally insured will have changed and may now fall outside of their underwriters' criteria.
Governance of the motor insurance industry is not a devolved matter; it falls within the remit of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
