Question:
To ask the Minister for Infrastructure, pursuant to AQW 15426/22-27, to detail the engagement undertaken with (i) schools; (ii) Translink; and (iii) the local community to develop local contingency plans prior to announcing the temporary suspension of the Strangford ferry service.

Answer:

My Officials have been engaged with the Education Authority and Translink to consider mitigation options which minimise impact on school pupils since August. Direct contact with Schools about suspension and mitigation measures continues.

Officials regularly engage with elected representatives and community groups, the most recent meetings took place on 11 March and 30 September 2024.
